On August 13th, 2005, Anthony J. Hilder and I encountered a checkpoint on the Burnside Bridge in Portland, Oregon. Outside the Box Investigates where FOX cannot tread.

    What if doing house to house searches for illegal firearms would save lives? Would you say that it was worth it?Freedom is always risky,you are safest in a cage being watched over twentyfour seven.Would that be worth it?

    The Oregon Supreme Court outlawed checkpoints on constitutional grounds in 1987. So, for these stops to be legal, the police must have Probable Cause. Expired tags are one example of Probable Cause. The Moral of the Story is: If you don’t want to get stopped by the cops in Oregon, then DON’T GIVE THEM PROBABLE CAUSE!
