Hawthorne. Take my word for it, you’ll be pleased.

NW 23rd is great, as is Hawthorne.

Buffalo Exchange, Red Light, Three Monkeys, Goodwill on 10th are all great thrift, vintage, and cheap stores.

Most definitely NW 23rd and the Hawthorne District!!!!

Well the trendy shops/boutiques are up on NW 23rd off of
Burnside. And there is the Pearl that is so trendy too. But they
are upscale in price and not where you go for the bargains.
I would head to the Beaverton Goodwill for good donations.
And there is the main Goodwill across the Willamette in
SE Portland. Their prices are higher than the other Goodwills
but they do have alot of inventory too. I stopped going there
tho, due to the crowds and the higher prices. The two best
in my opinion, and experience, is the Beaverton Goodwill,
and the 4th Plain Blvd. Goodwill in Vancouver, just across
the Columbia River, from Portland. Those have always
carried the good donations and better quality items, from
what I’ve found. There is also a Tigard, Ore. branch that has
a large inventory, but it’s too far out for you probably.
You will probably find a big assortment of vintage on the
NW side tho. I remember when I browsed there I found alot.
But I didn’t want to pay the $16.00 price either. But I enjoyed
looking anyway. The shops are fun to browse through. I think
parking was all by curb meters. I’m not sure if 21st st. off of
Burnside has shops or not. It’s been a long time since I was
over there. I do remember 23rd though as the place to browse. I think we got an ice cream cone and just looked
through some shops. It was a fun afternoon.
