What climate problems face portland Oregon?

My children have to come up with a climate problem facing Portland, Oregon. And then come up with a solution that no one is currently using or update one they are using. They are 7,9,and 11 years of age.

Localized pollution, and the Urban Heat Island Effect, just like every other city on earth.

Move to Yakima, is about the only solution I could come up with.

We did a study on this at PICSER , were a non-profit organization based in Banks. It stands for, Patterns Institute of Climate Systems and Environmental Research. Our study looked at all the contributing factors involved in the local area of Terra zones around the Portland Metro or Tri-city area. That being Vancouver, Portland and Gresham/Clackmas/etc… . Our research discovered that 75% more liberals and or democrats have more contributing factors to adverse climate problems then do republicans or independents. This fact was found through our polling system and deeply troubled as as we are Oboma Maniacs here. We found the we are in fact hypocrites and use more energy then most and are more careless. The overall patterns emerged as the climate problems being 3 fold. 1. Vehicle pollution. 2. Trash and general waste. 3. Noise and or verbal garbage. It seems democrats are using more gas, polluting with more trash and causing more noise. This was all very disturbing to us and we have since buried the report and will not be publishing it until we can come out with a new report in favor of us and against those nasty Republicans.
